Summer Learning Day at the Museum is part of a nationwide movement aimed at keeping kids learning, healthy and safe in the summer and takes place in concert with the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading. Summer Learning Day at the Museum is on Wednesday, June 21. The day includes free admission for Manatee and Sarasota county students in elementary and middle school, plus free admission for one adult chaperone per child. Children 3 & under are always admitted free, but will not be permitted an additional free adult chaperone. The Museum’s event is part of National Summer Learning Day, a national movement led by the National Summer Learning Association to encourage childhood learning during the summer months. Summer Learning Day at the Museum is also designed to help families identify local resources that offer fun, engaging learning opportunities in their own backyards — and is providing a way for families and children who may not normally have the means to visit the Museum and to keep returning throughout the summer.
