He was returned to the wild at Koreshan State Par [...]

This new Smithsonian traveling exhibition, which features 49 large-s [...]

The South Florida Museum has created a new exhibit in the Aquarium that shows the ecosystem connections that manatees and sea turtles share and highlights how the public can help sea turtles -- which are federally listed as threatened or endangered species -- grow from egg to adulthood. "Sea turtles and manatees share similar evolutionary histories -- both animals are descendants of terrestrial species," said Ashley Girt, Pathways Project and Content Development Manager. "But they also share sim [...]

More than 1,700 visitors joined us on Thursday for Summer Learning Day at the Museum, sponsored by Mosaic. This free day for Manatee and Sarasota county students (and chaperones) helps families identify local resources that offer fun, engaging learning opportunities in their own backyards and to keep students from losing gains made during the previous school year. "We're really excited to serve more and more students from Manatee and Sarasota counties during Summer Learning Day each year," said [...]
