Family Night at the Museum

The first Saturday of most months presents a whole new way to explore the Museum. Each Family Night offers something new to see and do. It could be a family-friendly film or maybe a live performance. Then there might be a scavenger hunt through the Museum or  hands-on activities to engage the entire family. One thing is for sure - it'll be fun and educational!

Family Night Details:

  • Cost: The Museum is open until 8 p.m. and admission is half-priced at the door after 3 p.m! Museum Members are always free for Family Night and Rock Hall of Fame!

  • Presentations: Most Family Nights include a Live Star Talk and/or a Space Show in the Bishop Planetarium, as well as an extra manatee presentation, check individual dates for more information.

  • Rock Hall of Fame: The musical presentation Rock Hall of Fame plays at 8 p.m. on Family Night (check program schedules below). Individual tickets for this program can be purchased for $5 each.

  • Tickets: Admission can be purchased at the Museum admission desk upon arrival. 

  • Program Schedule: Each Family Night is different, please check below for specific show schedules and Museum programs.

Family Night "Fun in the Sun"

How will you spend your summer vacation? Run, jump and soak up the sun as we embrace the summer.   Test your athletic skills in our special exhibit, Sportsology, then challenge your brain with the science of the sun.  If weather permits, we’ll even check out the sun “up close” through a high end solar telescope!

Family Night "Stormy Weather"

Rain, Rain, Go Away? No way!  Rain is our best friend!  Explore the science of weather and natural disasters and how Earth’s processes both sustain and startle us.

Family Night "Take Flight!"

How do airplanes stay up? What about birds and butterflies? Discover the real-life physics behind the magic of flight, and how the experience of flight has changed our perspective forever.
