2011-2012 Earth and Space Science Courses
We are happy to announce the Museum Science Education & Enrichment (MSEE) program for 2011-2012. Now entering its seventh year, MSEE is based on a three-year content cycle. The first year focuses on Earth & Space Science, the second on Life & Environmental Science, the third on Physical Science (Physics). This year's focus is on Earth and Space Science, and we'll be making extensive use of the Bishop Planetarium as a learning resource.
Led by Jeff Rodgers, the museum’s Director of Education and Director of the Bishop Planetarum, classes combine group discussions and hands-on activities for an engaging look at our planet, the planets of our solar system, stars, galaxies, the structure of our universe, the discovery of new solar systems and the current state of the search for life in the universe. These courses are not designed as stand-alone curricula, but as supplements to a broader course of study. Jeff is happy to consult with you on an individual basis about the curriculum you are using.
Two levels of classes will be offered in 2011-2012
JUNIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 2 – 6
and will meet from 1 pm to 2 pm
SENIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 7 – 12
