2015-2016 Life & Environmental Science Courses

We are happy to announce the Museum Science Education & Enrichment (MSEE) program for 2015-2016. Now entering its eleventh year, MSEE is based on a three-year content cycle. The first year focuses on Earth & Space Science, the second on Life & Environmental Science, the third on Physical Science (Physics). We’ve come full-circle three times and we’re back to Life & Environmental Science this year.

Life & Environmental Science classes combine group discussions and classroom activities with extensive use of the Museum’s exhibitions and aquarium, along with mini-field trips to the Riverwalk for nature observation. The Senior Level course focuses on dissections in the spring.

Schedule of classes offered in 2015-2016:

Classes will be held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month beginning on October 7, 2015 and ending May 18, 2016. Junior Level classes run for one hour. Senior Level classes run for 75 minutes.

  • JUNIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 2 – 6 and will meet from 1 pm to 2 pm.  The Junior Level course will be led by Meghan Murphy, our Museum Educator, with co-teaching support from Samantha Sprague, the Museum’s Curator of Education.
  • SENIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 7 – 12 and will meet from 2:30 to 3:45pm. Senior Level course will be led by Jeff Rodgers, the Museum’s Director of Education and Director of the Bishop Planetarium.
