2014-2015 Earth & Space Science Courses
We are happy to announce the Museum Science Education & Enrichment (MSEE) program for 2014-2015. Now entering its tenth year, MSEE is based on a three-year content cycle. The first year focuses on Earth & Space Science, the second on Life & Environmental Science, the third on Physical Science (Physics). We’ve come full-circle three times and we’re back to Earth & Space Science this year.
This year's courses will be co-taught by Jeff Rodgers, the Museum’s Director of Education and Director of the Bishop Planetarium, and Samantha Sprague, the Museum's Curator of Education. Classes combine group discussions and classroom activities with extensive use of the new Bishop Planetarium, one of the most powerful astronomy education tools in Florida.
Two levels of classes will be offered in 2014-2015:
JUNIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 2 – 6 and will meet from 1 pm to 2 pm.
SENIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 7 – 12 and will meet from 2:30 to 3:30.
Classes will be held on the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning on October 1, 2014 and ending May 20, 2015. All classes run for one hour.
The JUNIOR class has sold out.
Open Registration will begin on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. For those wishing to register online, a registration link will appear on the right side of this page and become active at that time.
