2012-2013 Life & Environmental Science Courses

Yes, we will have classes on Wednesday, November 21 at our regularly scheduled times!

We are happy to announce the Museum Science Education & Enrichment (MSEE) program for 2012-2013. Now entering its eighth year, MSEE is based on a three-year content cycle. The first year focuses on Earth & Space Science, the second on Life & Environmental Science, the third on Physical Science (Physics). This year's focus is on Life & Environmental Science, and we'll be making extensive use of the museum and  the new RiverWalk learning resources.

Led by Jeff Rodgers, the museum’s Director of Education, classes combine group discussions, hands-on and laboratory activities for an engaging look at Life through the lenses of many disciplines. Students will examine life at the genetic, cellular, systems and ecosystem levels. For Senior Level students, the Spring semester focuses on laboratory dissections. These courses are not designed as stand-alone curricula, but as supplements to a broader course of study. Jeff is happy to consult with you on an individual basis about the curriculum you are using.

Two levels of classes will be offered in 2012-2013

JUNIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 2 – 6
and will meet from 1 pm to 2 pm

SENIOR level will be appropriate for students entering grades 7 – 12
and will meet from 2:30 to 3:30

Classes will be held on the first and third Wednesday of each month beginning on October 3, 2012 and ending May 16, 2012.
All classes run for one hour
