Campers will learn all about how food gets from the ground to the table, how and where our food is raised and grown, and even plant a small portable "starter" garden, learning proper planting techniques, soils and companion plants. Campers will learn how to make butter, various fruits and vegetables raised in Florida gardens and even do some cooking with "Chef" Hammock! Let's EAT IT UP at our Farm to Plate Camp!
PREHISTORIC FLORIDA
June 18-22

We will learn about Florida's geologic history, and all about the large land and water animals in and around our state before we were discovered by Ponce de Leon. Learn about the large sloths, mastodons, megladons, and sabertooths that inhabited our land in pre-history! Of course, no Prehistoric Florida camp would be complete without fossils, fossil casts and molds, and LOTS of them! It's a TIME MACHINE JOURNEY into Florida's past!
ENGINEERING BRIDGES, BOATS, and SKYSCRAPERS
June25-29
Campers will learn the science behind building great structures and will build their own models out of toothpicks, balsa wood and dowels. Learn engineering and architectural terms and techniques and engineering basics. Campers will put their new knowledge to work building their own structures and have fun attempting to make their own grand structures! Come discover the engineer inside you and have loads of fun in the process!

From mucus to moles and EVERYTHING in between, come learn why our bodies and the world around us, is SOOOOOO GROSS! As always, campers will learn the science behind it all and make simply GROSS models and liquids to enhance their scientific understanding. Let's get GROSS-er than ever!
FLORIDA'S MANATEES and the MARINE ENVIRONMENT
July 23-27
Back by popular demand, campers will learn about our resident marine mammals, the manatees. Of course no camp about manatees would be complete without utilizing the Parker Aquarium's most lovable resident, SNOOTY, and his tank-mates for observations for understanding. Campers will also learn about our river, coastal and gulf marine environments and how we can protect and enhance them for all the residents of our beautiful waters. Campers will learn the science and biology of our waters, using booklets, information and testing kits from our partners in the protection of our waters, Southwest Florida Water Management District. Come learn how to be both an ecological warrior for our waters and an environmentalist, not to mention a SNOOTY-OLOGIST!
