The campaign, titled The Ripple Effect, was initiated in 2011 to help support the Museum’s Manatee Care Program. We challenge the entire community to join the Museum in support of Florida’s endangered gentle giants this summer by helping us reach our $10,000 goal.

On Saturday, July 21, 2012, Snooty, the world’s oldest manatee on record, will turn 64 years old. South Florida Museum Plans to Release Manatee in Apollo Beach Tomorrow, 1-17-12

The animal care staff at the South Florida Museum’s Parker Manatee Aquarium is planning to release a young female manatee nicknamed “Brandee” at 9 a.m. tomorrow, 1-17-12, from the Apollo Beach Nature Preserve, 6760 Surfside Blvd. in Apollo Beach. Brandee will be released with “Homey,” a manatee being released from Lowry Park Zoo’s manatee hospital.
